Hall & Oates 2016 Tour

The Objective:
Create a viral, high-impact moment to announce the upcoming Daryl Hall & John Oates tour, despite creative limitations including no access to the artists, no press appearances, and no new music.

The Approach:
We developed an unexpected, culture-driven announcement by partnering with Bill Hader and Fred Armisen’s spoof band, Blue Jean Committee, to break the tour news via a custom video. Timed strategically alongside IFC’s Documentary Now! Season Two premiere and amplified through Live Nation’s national reach, the activation tapped into comedy, music fandom, and pop culture - allowing the announcement to cut through without traditional artist participation.

The Results:
The video gained rapid viral traction, earning coverage across major media outlets and driving widespread conversation. The campaign directly fueled an overwhelming surge in ticket sales, exceeding expectations and proving the power of inventive storytelling to deliver results even under tight creative constraints.
